Article written by Catherine M. Perez

De La Salle Lipa’s very own, Jerwin Lasin, who is currently the Webmaster, bagged the top prize in the digital photoshop category of the annual CALABARZON Graphic Design Convention held on March 20 at De La Salle University – Dasmariñas.

The contest, on its second year, was open to all enthusiasts of graphic designs. With this year’s theme as "Reinventing the Bayanihan," Lasin captured the very essence of it in his winning masterpiece entitled, “A Helping Hand.” An excerpt on his elaboration read as “. . . doing something beyond what is expected of us, at our own free will, and without expecting something in return for the welfare of our brothers and sisters . . . is bayanihan in the modern world. A helping hand has the power to change the world and make it better for mankind.”

The one-day affair included an exhibit as well as seminars on digital photography and adobe photoshop by featured speakers Mariano “Jun” Miranda and Mario Ramirez, respectively.

On the first year of the same regional competition, Lasin got the third spot on the same category while Art Cueto of the General Services Department got the same prize on digital photography.
